Volleyball tournament at Hard Rock

Manhattan Beach, Calif., native Eric Fonoimoana will attempt to defend his crown when the King of the Beach Invitational caps off the 1999 AVP tour season Friday-Sunday at the Hard Rock Hotel. Women volleyballers will join the men with their Queen of the Beach Invitational. The men's division will feature three-time Olympic gold medalist Karch Kiraly, the all-time beach volleyball career wins leader. Action is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, priced from $5 to $35, are on sale at the Hard Rock box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
