Venetian sued over french fries, pretzels
Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999 | 11:17 a.m.
Frank's Steaks of New York LLC sued Venetian Casino Resort LLC, Grand Canal Mall Construction LLC, Las Vegas Sands Inc. and Ark Las Vegas Restaurant Corp., alleging they infringed a lease agreement granting the restaurant exclusive rights to sell hamburgers, steak sandwiches, french fries, hot fresh pretzels and sausage sandwiches at the Strip megaresort.
The Clark County District Court suit alleged the Venetian, Grand Canal and Las Vegas Sands had breached their lease agreement when they decided to allow another tenant, Ark Las Vegas, to sell french fries, and one other tenant to sell pretzels in the food court.
Frank's Steaks also claimed the defendants altered structural ductwork in a way that would interfere with the restaurant's operations.
The Venetian's legal counsel could not be reached for comment on the allegations.
