Letter: Poor education ruining America

After watching "20/20" recently, one need not wonder any longer why. How can our young people learn when their textbooks are absolutely rife with glaring errors?

One example in a history book -- Korea, not Japan, was the first country to be bombed with an atomic weapon.

In another history book, George Washington was given exactly three lines of print. In the same work, Marilyn Monroe was given six pages!

In other areas, facts were not important, but political correctness was.

Perhaps what is even more appalling is the qualification of the teachers that disseminate tripe such as this. God help America to survive.
