Roy Thrasher is expected to enter his plea when he returns Monday morning to Carson District Court. He signed a plea deal Friday with prosecutors.
Thrasher and his brother, Danny Wayne Harper, 23, were charged with shooting Jerry Hobson II to death and leaving his body in Goni Canyon, where it was discovered three months later.
Harper pleaded guilty to first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon in December and was sentenced to two consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.
The use of a deadly weapon doubled his sentence.
Thrasher is expected to plead guilty to first-degree murder without the use of a deadly weapon. He faces a life term with or without parole when he's sentenced.
The brothers gave several versions of what happened after they lured Hobson to the canyon on the pretense of loaning him money and smoking marijuana, investigators said.
