Las Vegas-based Wilson Antenna Inc., a distributor of citizens band radio antennas and accessories, was acquired by a national company.
Barjan Products LLC, East Moline, Ill., a national marketer and distributor of automotive and electronics products, has acquired three companies in an expansion program designed to double annual sales by 2002.
Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
In addition to buying Wilson Antenna, Barjan acquired Wilson Electronics Co. Inc., St. George, Utah, and Unique Products Inc., Goldendale, Wash. Wilson Electronics manufactures the Wilson brand of CB radio antennas, antenna accessories and other CB products while Wilson Antenna is the company's distribution arm.
The acquisitions enable Barjan to market directly to CB radio operators. Presently, Barjan offers its automotive products to truck dealers and fleets, retail automotive chains, convenience stores and through catalog sales.
Wilson officials could not be reached for comment on how the acquisitions will affect the 17 employees who work for the company in Las Vegas.
