Suggestions sought for school names
Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 | 10:18 a.m.
Got a good name for a new school?
The Clark County School District wants to hear your opinion.
The district is taking applications for suggestions for 17 new schools through 4 p.m. on Sept. 15.
The CCSD School Name Committee is in the process of reviewing name applications for the first schools that will be built from the $3.5 billion 1998 school bond.
The committee will recommend names to the school board, which will make the final decision.
The school district's policy is to name elementary schools and middle schools after prominent citizens or educators -- living or dead -- and high schools for geographic locations.
School name applications can be requested by calling 799-8710.
