Letter: Casinos would be lost without slots

Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 | 9:31 a.m.

Why are all the casinos being built like giants hovering over the city of Las Vegas? Are they just to gaze at their beauty and walk on past the slots? I think not.

The millions of dollars being made each year by the gaming industry would be destroyed if folks walked on by. It is a big addiction like everything else is: drugs, drinking and gambling.

If the slots are just another ornament in the casinos why have them there at all? Amen!
