Valley growth by the numbers

Some examples of the valley's growth:

* The number of cars, trucks and recreational vehicles registered in Clark County has gone from 577,517 in 1990 to 890,298 this year.

* Exactly 100 new schools have been added to the Clark County School System since 1988. Another 88 are expected by 2008.

* There were 9,837 births in Clark County in 1987, a number which rose to 17,773 in 1997.

* The State Demographer estimates that Clark County's population, currently $1.3 million, could double to 2.6 million by 2018.
