John Barra

John Barra, 89, of Las Vegas died Aug. 25 in a local hospital. He was born July 3, 1910, in Italy. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired tool and die maker for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two daughters, Amelita Berardi and Roseanne Fasulo, both of New Jersey; one son, Carmine J. Barra, one stepdaughter, Josephine Lotriguilo, and one stepson, Anthony Scala, all of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Timothy L. Blackburn, 26, Sophia Puthea Lim, 24, Tiana M. Blackburn, 5, and Tiara S. Blackburn, 4, all of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. Timothy was born Jan. 8, 1973, in Seoul, Korea. A resident for most of his life, he was an automotive repairman and 1991 Las Vegas High School graduate. Sophia was born July 5, 1975, in Cambodia. A resident for most of her life, she was a waitress and 1993 Las Vegas High School graduate. Tiana was born Aug. 19, 1994, and Tiara was born Aug. 25, 1995, both in Las Vegas.

Timothy is survived by his mother, Sun Tok Blackburn, and one brother, Terry J. Blackburn. Sophia is survived by her father, Samuel Lim, her mother, Ya Tes, four sisters, Alina Morella, Teresa Lim, Seila Lim and Bonette Lim, and one brother, Benjamin Lim. Tiana and Tiara are survived by their grandparents, Samuel Lim, Ya Tes and Sun Tok Blackburn; and several aunts and uncles, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Barbara Schmutz Bradshaw

Barbara Schmutz Bradshaw, 63, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Washington, Utah. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired food service manager for the Clark County School District.

She is survived by one daughter, Tina Marie Thetford of Henderson; two sons, Sheldon D. Bradshaw of Henderson and Michael Buddy Bradshaw of Parowan, Utah; two sisters, Afton Gibson of Washington and Violet Graff of Las Vegas; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palos Verde LDS Chapel, Henderson. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Washington City Cemetery, Washington. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Jeanne Rowley Cook

Jeanne Rowley Cook, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 6, 1915, in Ashland, Wis. A resident for 6 1/2 years, she was a member of the Westside Newcomers Club and Senior Friends and secretary for speaker pro-tem of the California Assembly and secretary for Rep. Don Edwards.

She is survived by one son, Brent Anderson of Springfield, Ore.; one daughter, Carolyn Vanderpool of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Rowley of Castro Valley, Calif.; one sister, Mary Cole of Cambria, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Wilma Eisinger, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born April 22, 1910, in New York City. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Lloyd Eisinger, and one daughter, Susan Eisinger, both of Henderson.

Frank John Giardino

Frank John Giardino, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1920, in New York City. A resident for 15 years, he was a hotel manager and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Philip Giardino of Star Lake, N.Y., and Charles Giardino of Staten Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Elvira Erlitz of Stony Brook, N.Y., and Camile Storteur of East Setauket, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Myrtle Grayson

Myrtle Grayson, 81, of Caliente died Tuesday in Caliente. A homemaker, she was born March 29, 1918, in Florida.

She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Janice Baxley of Caliente.

Mary Kay Hewitt, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Lincoln, Maine. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Chris; two daughters, Melisa Ann Sherman of Las Vegas and Linda Marie Madson of California; two sons, Peter L. Daniel of California and Chris Hewitt Jr. of Wisconsin; and five grandchildren.

Thi T. Hong, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born Oct. 30, 1911, in Hai Nam, Vietnam. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters, Kinh Hong, Mai Hong, Cuc Thi Hong and Lanh Nguyet Hong, and four sons, Phuoc Van Hong, Phi Gi Hong, William P. Hong and Gi Tai Hong, all of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-9 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Christain Estrada Horner

Christain Estrada Horner, 3 months, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. A resident for three months, he was born May 19, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Meredith Patrick, and one sister, Alexandria Patrick, both of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Mario and Rhonda Estrada of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and Sandra and Rick Kiernan of Las Vegas; and his great-grandfather, Jesse Estrada of Costa Mesa, Calif.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Juliette Iglesias

Juliette Iglesias, 74, of Las Vegas died Aug. 17 in Las Vegas. She was born April 29, 1925, in Argentina. A resident for five years, she was a nun in the Catholic Church.

She is survived by one brother, Roberto Iglesias of Argentina.

Donald P. Kyker

Donald P. Kyker, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Washington, D.C. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired commercial airline pilot, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the Las Vegas Avicultural Society.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Lindsay Kyker of Las Vegas; his mother, Ann Kyker of Heathsville, Va.; and one brother, Stephen Kyker of Vienna, Va.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Pedro M. Lopez, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 19, 1932, in Cuba. A resident for 28 years, he was a self-employed house painter.

He is survived by his wife, Olympia; five daughters, Ana Alvarez, Celayda Castro, Maray Castro and Miriam Champion, all of Las Vegas, and Mayda Lopez of Cuba; six sons, Jorge Lopez, Peter Lopez and Redy Lopez, all of Cuba, and Pedro L. Lopez, Jesus Lopez and David L. Lopez, all of Florida; three sisters, Zoraida Alvarez, Cira Fernandez, Maria Palau, and one brother, Gilberto Lopez, all of Las Vegas; several nieces and nephews; and 27 grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Burial will be in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Robert C. McDonald Jr.

Robert C. McDonald Jr., 27, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 19, 1972, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was disabled.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley McDonald of Las Vegas; his father, Robert McDonald Sr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; and one sister, Brenda McDonald of Georgia.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

James Pierpont 'J.P.' Morgan, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Murphysboro, Ill. A resident for four years, he was a retired postal clerk and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Francell D.; three daughters, Geralund P. Morgan of Huntington Beach, Calif., Jaye M. Williams of Chicago and Glynis M. Mason of Oakland, Calif.; two sons, Jerome P. Morgan of Fontana, Calif., and Giovanni P. Morgan of Las Vegas; one sister, Virginia F. Williams of Newark, N.J.; one brother, John A. Morgan of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; four stepdaughters, Rita Graham of Glen Cove, Calif., Bobbie Lovitt of Rollins, Wyo., Heidi Gomez of Buena Park, Calif., and Frieda Clark of Yuma, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bobby Ohntrup, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 22, 1945, in Philadelphia. A resident for two years, he was a retired service station owner-operator and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; one son, Bryan Ohntrup of Reddington Beach, Fla.; and his parents, Jean and Robert Ohntrup Sr. of Sun City West, Ariz.

Grace Evelyn Dimick Barfield Partridge, 89, of Las Vegas died Friday in Oregon. She was born June 4, 1910, in Parnum, Idaho. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Rodney Barfield of Torrance, Calif., and Phil Barfield of Coos Bay, Ore.; one sister, Ila Parvin of St. George, Utah; and nine grandchildren.

Ouida Somersall-Brown, 64 , of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 5 , 1935, in Pembroke, Bermuda. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired Clark County School District teacher.

She is survived by one son, Michael Brown of Henderson; three daughters, Lynette Jones and Jacqueline Brown, both of Henderson, and Renee Browne of the Bronx, N.Y.; one sister, Helen Foster of the Bronx; and two grandchildren.

Hazel F. Trumble

Hazel F. Trumble, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Kanab, Utah. A resident for 59 years, she was a retired county government deputy clerk and a member of the Retail Clerks Union.

She is survived by two daughters, Dee Hale and Beverly Buy, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Phyllis Judd and Athene McAllister, both of Kanab; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
