Letter: Bradley is breath of fresh political air

This is in contrast to the insistence of congressional Republicans of only getting tax cuts for the rich. They have fought against all three of the above-named Bradley goals. Even Republican Texas Gov. George W. Bush has been critical of them. Furthermore, I don't like President Clinton's new Democrats. They moved to the center, which means moving to the right with tax policy regarding the affluent. They are me-too Republicans.
Bradley might be a ray of hope for us liberal Democrats. It was the liberal Democrats who brought some semblance of social equality to the nation before the Reagan Republicans began their run of tax cuts for the wealthy.
However, in addition to a liberal Democrat as president, we need a Democratic Congress. It is time for Congress to enact laws to aid the vast numbers of working people and the impoverished, who are not enjoying the present "good" economy. And increase the income tax on the affluent, who are profiteering under the present tax codes, to support such programs.
