Carson City sheriff's investigators said they sent the report to the district attorney's office last week.
The father of a Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School eighth-grade basketball player is accused of punching coach Justin Pruett in the back of the head after the team lost a game Tuesday at Eagle Valley Middle School in Carson City.
Pruett said the parent was angry that the coach played all of the girls rather than focusing solely on winning the game.
"We had beaten (Eagle Valley) two times in a row," Pruett said. "I tried to make it a challenge to win with everyone playing at least one quarter. I told them before the game that everyone would play at least one quarter."
