A privately held San Diego company that uses Internet technology to market music has acquired Emerging Artists & Talent in Music of Las Vegas.
Solutions Media Inc., which owns SpinRecords.com, SpinRadio and SpinRecords Publishing Co., acquired EAT'M and its spring music festivals in Las Vegas in a stock and cash deal valued at $2 million.
Officials with Solutions Media said founder Lisa Tenner and co-director Sue Shifrin-Cassidy would maintain their roles with the organization.
Tenner said EAT'M would provide content for Solutions Media's marketing and distribution network.
EAT'M's three-day spring event has grown steadily since 1998.
Tenner said Solutions Media is preparing to go public next year and the company's initial public offering is scheduled just before the 2000 EAT'M conference, scheduled June 7-10 at the Rio hotel-casino.
