Three youths in custody for threats of violence in Sparks

Two more boys were arrested this week after a seventh-grade boy was arrested last week for threatening to go on a killing spree at Mendive Middle School.
All three were in custody Wednesday at Wittenberg Hall in Reno. They may be expelled from school.
"These three are somewhat friends and kind of hang out in the same group," school police Sgt. Mike Mieras said.
The seventh-grader arrested last week had a knife and had hidden three more knives and a hatchet in the bushes outside the school. Neither of the eighth-graders arrested this week had any weapons.
All the arrests came after tips from students and parents, Mieras said.
