New Nevada publication planned

A Southern California company that publishes two family oriented magazines will offer a new monthly publication in Southern Nevada early next year.
Las Vegas Family Magazine will debut Jan. 3 with 50,000 copies distributed free at 500 distribution points throughout Clark County, including newsstands, private schools and family oriented businesses.
Churm Publishing, based in Newport Beach, Calif., already distributes 1 1/2-year-old OC Family Magazine in Orange County, Calif., and 3-month-old Inland Empire Family Magazine in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Content will include advice and information on schools, camps, housing, financial matters, entertainment, travel and home technology. The Las Vegas publication is expected to debut with a 50- to 60-page edition.
Las Vegas native Greg Blake Miller was hired as managing editor of the magazine. Miller is working with California-based Executive Editor Craig Reem to develop a network of free-lance writers and photographers to contribute to the magazine. Three advertising account executives and an administrative assistant round out the Las Vegas staff, which has an office at the Park 2000 complex at Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue.
Publisher Steve Churm said the magazine will be printed in Orange County and while content will have themes with its sister publications, articles in Las Vegas Family Magazine will deal with local issues and personalities.
