Salaries in Southern Nevada's booming construction sector continued their upward climb this year.
In its 1999 salary survey, Contractors and Builders Personnel reports that 80 percent of the construction companies surveyed planned to increase salaries. In 1998, the report found 72 percent of participants granted salary hikes. The third annual survey contains information received from 45 companies in Nevada's construction industry.
Year-over-year average increases reported in the survey included a $10,000 salary jump to $64,471 for a project manager; a $4,000 increase to $55,977 for a construction superintendent; a $3,000 pay hike to $29,400 for an accounts receivable clerk; and a $4,000 per year increase to $28,850 for a construction secretary.
