North Las Vegans question new ward boundaries
Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999 | 11:13 a.m.
North Las Vegas residents are questioning plans that would draw new boundaries for city council wards.
Many residents claim the proposed new configuration does not consider future growth. They say that in a short time some wards could contain as many as 60,000 people and others only 20,000.
Retired Judge Frederick Kessler was hired by the city to help draw the boundaries. He claims the wards must start with equal numbers and should be adjusted as needed to maintain balance.
The council is scheduled to vote on the boundaries Dec. 1.
