William Reed Bowers

William Reed Bowers, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 4, 1937, in West Virginia. A resident for many years, he was a baggage handler and a veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; one son, William R. Bowers II, and one daughter, Lynn L. Hoffman, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Nelson of West Virginia; and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Margaret 'Domenica' Cernuto

Margaret "Domenica" Cernuto, 96, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 13, 1903, in Grosse Tete, La. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired department store seamstress.

She is survived by one son, Samuel Cernuto Sr., and one daughter, Josephine Franovic, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King. Burial will be in Johnstown, Pa. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Katherine Collins

Katherine Collins, 75, of Las Vegas died Sept. 22 in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born June 4, 1924.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Ford Hall

Ford Hall, 73, of Henderson died Sept. 22 in Henderson. A security guard, he was born July 5, 1926.

He is survived by one daughter, Dawn Hall of Kentucky; and one sister, Beulah Manning of Ohio.

Tyler Robert Heath

Tyler Robert Heath, 7 weeks, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Cameron and Lea Heath, one brother, John Chasen Heath, and one sister, Alexea Carman Heath, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Geri Rosequist and Craig Rosequist, both of Las Vegas, and Stan and Lisa Heath of Mesa, Ariz.; and his great-grandparents, Bob and Gerri Manis and Lamar and Vernae Hansen, all of Washington, and John and Martha Heath and Sophia Martinez, all of Mesa.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Eleanor Leschorn

Eleanor Leschorn, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 8, 1911, in New York City. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol Sullivan of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.

Melvin Mirkin

Melvin Mirkin, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. He was born May 30, 1924, in Belle Harbor, N.Y. A resident for seven years, he was an owner of a vending machine business and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Claire; two daughters, Judith Winstral of Muttontown, N.Y., and Lisa Horowitz of Woodsburgh, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Arthritis Foundation, Nevada Chapter, 3850 W. Desert Inn Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

Howard Morgan Jr.

Howard Morgan Jr., 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born June 4, 1935, in Port St. Joe, Fla. A resident for seven years, he was a retired aircraft machinist at Roy Industry (Trimm Tech) and a member of Foster Parents of Nevada and Foster Parents National.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Claudia Benjamin of Las Vegas; four sons, Anthony Morgan and Byron Wade, both of Las Vegas, Eric Morgan of Phoenix and Jonathon Darling of Sacramento; three brothers, Edward Morgan of Victorville, Calif., Preston Morgan of Long Beach, Calif., and Jerome Morgan of Panama City, Fla.; five sisters, Mary Esley and Diane Morgan, both of Sacramento, Maude Bryant and Francine Morgan, both of Port St. Joe, and Dorothy Ballard of Los Angeles; and 16 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Brent Reed

Brent Reed, 20, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1979, in Cincinnati. A resident for 15 years, he was a loan processor for a mortgage company.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Amy and Guy Julien of Las Vegas; his father, Shelby Reed of Cincinnati; two sisters, Tara Reed and Jullian Lang, both of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Charles and Kay Lambert of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Troy J. Roberts

Troy J. Roberts, 25, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 9, 1974, in Los Alamitos, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a Marie Callender's pie baker.

He is survived by his companion, Miranda Rudolph of Henderson; one daughter, Amanda Roberts of Tucson, Ariz.; his father, Jerald Roberts of Palau; and four sisters, Christina Lemos, Trisha Soloway and Tamara Roberts, all of Tucson, and Tawnya Roberts of Flagstaff, Ariz.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Howard Addison Pettis

Howard Addison Pettis, 71, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born April 23, 1928, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for 13 years, he was a truck driver for 30 years in Minnesota and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillian; two sons, Wayne Pettis of Ohio and Thomas Pettis of Minnesota; two brothers, Vernon Pettis and Marland Pettis, and two sisters, Celestine Wiswell and Jean Breen, all of Minnesota; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:15 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Betty Jean Russi

Betty Jean Russi, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born April 21, 1923, in Ohio. A resident for five years, she was a retired civil service secretary, a member of the Women's Group at Desert Springs United Methodist Church and Sun City clubs.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; one daughter, Judy Brown of Pacifica, Calif.; one stepson, James R. Warren of Henderson; one brother, John Haverfield of Upland, Calif.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
