Suspect arrested in shooting death

Brandon Douglas Allan of Sun Valley was booked Friday into the Washoe County Jail in the death of Kellie Von Urquidy Parry, 23, of Sun Valley.

Washoe County sheriff's deputies said they talked the suspect into surrendering after he confronted them with a handgun outside his home.

After taking Allan into custody, deputies found Parry's body inside the home.

Deputies responded to the Slope Drive home after a woman told authorities that her son had just killed his girlfriend there.

Allan, who has a criminal record involving violence and firearms, later confessed to fatally shooting Parry, deputies said.
