1st Race -- Sizzling Summer - Speed and second best at over three times this level in last, won prior three outings at higher levels as well, now takes a significant drop in class, but, trainer Mitchell keeps Solis aboard, fire sale win here. Bold 'n Brawny - Part of solid entry with Pembina, made 3-wide bid and gamely won last, in the quinella half of 8 Anita starts with 2 of 3 career victories, hustling Pedroza takes over on Spawr trainee as Solis stays with top pick. Value Play -- Khal Me Chewy
2nd Race -- Long Run - Just missed when game 2nd by a nose with best career effort in last, nice work since raced, Berrio returns on Van Berg trainee, maiden bounce only concern. This Cats a Flying - Threw head and awkward start, then made up over 10 lengths when 4th in last, dueled lead and weakened to 5th before that, another bullet drill since raced, good start could produce diploma here. Value Play -- Malibu Skylar
3rd Race -- Morell's Love - Won last at twice this price in needed outing in last, won at this level before that, sitting on a five-race win streak and in the quinella 10 of 15 lifetime starts with 8 victories, Berrio stays on Spawr trainee, favored in last 5 starts. Box of Jewels - Dueled lead and outfinished while close 4th in last, 3rd before that and runner-up in prior pair of outings, long time since won, but, always puts in a run, could trip out in this spot with clean journey from rail post. Value Play -- Bud's Golden Girl
4th Race -- Inwood - Closing 4th in starter allowance outing in last, improved position for over twice this price before that, broke maiden at this trip, reunites with winning rider now, good spot for action. Cannon - 4-wide and runner-up at a mile in last, competitive at higher levels throughout the year, now drops to lowest level of the year, Blanc stays, must overcome outside post though. Value Play -- Atwood
5th Race -- Retsina Year - Ran off in the post parade then set pace and finished debut 3rd at the fair in last, needs to behave oneself in pre-race warm-ups, had race, should be in the thick of it from outer post, Garcia/ Peterson combo. Trif - Stalked leader and edged for 2nd when 3rd in last, set pace and overtaken late when debut 2nd before that, steady works since raced, hustling Puglisi returns on Hendricks trainee, another who must overcome post position. Value Play -- Sharp Looking Dude
6th Race -- Top Order - Runner-up in all three U.S. starts with most recent pair of outings at a mile on Del Mar sod, rallied 3-wide when close 2nd sprinting on Hollypark lawn, should like this downhill run, hustling Espinoza takes over. Rangoon Ruby - French-raced invader makes U.S. debut, placed twice in Group III races overseas, trio of works for trainer Frankel who tabs Solis for stateside debut, could be ready at first asking. Value Play -- Exbourne Free
7th Race -- Here's Zealous - Speedster stalked lively pace and wore down rival to break maiden in last, awkward start then closed for close debut 2nd before that, draws inside post, Puglisi stays on Hendricks trainee, foward factor throughout. Orangeman - Son of Meadowlake unleashed game debut run and held to break maiden at Del Mar in last, steady works with most recent move a bullet drill on the 17th, McCarron returns on Cecil trainee, promising colt here. Value Play -- Joopy Doopy
8th Race -- Brigade - 1st time starter by Rubiano, solid steady worktab with a bullet 6-panel drill on the 5th, good post and Stevens scales for new contract connections, has the breeding to speed off with an early win. West of the Pecos - Set pace and outkicked when 3rd at Del Mar in last, on the pace and runner-up in 2 of 3 prior outings, swift worktab since raced with most recent pair of drills bullet moves, Flores/Baffert team again. Value Play -- Bid and Offer
