Casino Data Systems of Las Vegas reported improved revenues and earnings per share for the third quarter.
The company reported a quarterly profit of $1.81 million, or 10 cents a share, up from a year-ago profit of $48,000, or zero cents per share. Revenues for the quarter rose 33 percent, to $20 million. The largest revenue increase was recorded by Casino Data Systems' games division, which saw sales increase 80 percent to $8.8 million.
Casino Data Systems attributed its strengthened earnings in part to new efficiencies in its manufacturing operations. Earnings in the year-ago quarter were also decreased by a $1 million loss from a shareholder lawsuit.
Over the nine months ending Sept. 30, Casino Data Systems recorded a profit of $3.95 million, or 22 cents per share, compared to income of $732,000, or 4 cents per share, a year ago. Revenues rose 48 percent, to $58.5 million.
