The cost of living in Las Vegas rose again in September, due largely to a fifth consecutive month of higher housing costs, First Security Bank reported.
First Security, which tracks local prices, said Las Vegas prices increased 2 percent in September. This follows increases of 0.5 percent in August and 0.4 percent in July.
Local increases were reported for housing (5.1 percent), health care (1.5 percent), clothing (1.2 percent), restaurant (1.2 percent) and transportation (0.6 percent) costs. Grocery costs declined 0.7 percent, First Security reported.
