A Las Vegas-based discount travel website will be a new partner for a travel service being introduced by TheStreet.Com Inc.
Lowestfare.com, formerly known as Global Discount Travel Services LLC, will operate TheStreet.com Travel Center, a co-branded travel service for site visitors.
Lowestfare.com, which launched operations in 1995 and developed its first web site in October 1996, offers customers the ability to book reservations on more than 440 airlines and at more than 43,000 hotels and with most major rental car companies. The Las Vegas company has 530 employees.
TheStreet.com plans to launch the travel center this month and signed a one-year agreement with Lowestfare.com.
Ken Swanton, chief executive officer of Lowestfare.com, said a frame identifying TheStreet.com Travel Center will link site visitors directly to his site. Swanton did not disclose the number of visits his site receives daily.
