Letter: Beers tries to keep governor honest
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999 | 9:58 a.m.
I am glad that Assemblyman Bob Beers is trying to keep the governor honest. As the governor pontificates on DMV, and his ethics committee falls apart, his "DMV fix contract" is in trouble.
Beers' oversight committee is exploring the administration's contract, which now appears fatally flawed. Meanwhile people aren't buying cars and are endlessly waiting in line.
Three cheers for Beers from the taxpayer.
