Kenny Kerr, longtime star and host of a female impersonator show at a downtown hotel-casino, has filed for bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas.
Kerr, whose impersonations of Cher and Barbra Streisand have entertained audiences at the defunct Silver Slipper hotel-casino and the Debbie Reynolds hotel-casino, filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, doing business as "Boylesque," 2255 S. Buffalo Drive. The filing listed assets of $122,700 and liabilities of $206,913.
Mike Nolan, general manager of the Plaza hotel-casino where "Boylesque" is now contracted to play twice a night, five nights a week, said the show would continue its run at the downtown showroom.
Kerr's attorney, Randolph Goldberg, confirmed that the bankruptcy filing earlier this month would not affect the entertainer's plans to continue performing and that he was not aware of any creditors that would intervene.
Goldberg declined comment on why Kerr filed for bankruptcy.
