Flu shots offered at two locations
MountainView Senior Friends is offering flu shots 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday at 8524 Del Webb Blvd. For reservations and information, call 255-5404.
Sunrise Senior Friends is offering flu shots from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1 at 3101 S. Maryland Parkway. For reservations, call 735-5510.
Nevada Partners plans workshops, classes
Nevada Partners is offering free life skills workshops and computer classes in Spanish. The workshops include hands-on instructions in Microsoft Office 2000 and Windows 95.
Nevada Partners provides job skills training and placement assistance.

Augustine director of women's organization
State Controller Kathy Augustine was elected to the board of directors of Women Executives in State Government.
Carol A. Jackson, director of the Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation, was re-elected secretary.
Attorney Jones named to Cal Western trustees
Randall Jones of the law firm Harrison, Kemp and Jones is joining the California Western School of Law Board of Trustees.
The Las Vegas resident earned his law degree from California Western in 1981. His focus has been in construction, real estate, insurance bad faith and tort claims.
Imperial Palace boss honored by chamber
Ed Crispell, general manager of the Imperial Palace, received the 1999 Sam Walton Business Leader Award.
The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce selected Crispell to be one of the 1,600 business people honored in Wal-Mart and Sam's Club communities around the world.
A $500 grant to the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce was awarded in Crispell's name.
Crispell is on the board of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Boys & Girls Clubs will help feed kids
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas Food Service Program has expanded to three locations, serving meals to children at no charge.
The locations include Lied Memorial Unit, 2850 S. Lindell Road; North Las Vegas Unit, 2530 E. Carey Ave; and University Church Unit, 4412 S. Maryland Parkway.
Each unit will serve breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.
Group honored for crash-reduction project
The Clark County Safe Community Partnership received the regional Allstate Safety Leadership Award for developing a successful interagency traffic crash-reduction program.
Despite tremendous growth in the valley, Clark County had one fewer traffic fatality during 1998 than in 1997.
The Safe Community Partnership received a $3,000 prize and an opportunity to compete with winners from 16 other regions for a $10,000 prize.
Pledge drive beats its $200,000 goal
Representatives from KLVX Channel 10 say the station exceeded its goal of raising $200,000 during its fall 1999 pledge drive.
More than 1,500 new and renewing patrons pledged $201,962 to maintain the programming of the Public Broadcasting System station.
Membership donations account for 56 percent of the station's annual operating budget.
Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 36 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, Oct. 20 - 26:

NORTH LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 3262 Civic Center Drive, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A.D. GUY CLINIC: Boys & Girls Club, 817 N St., 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
BLUE DIAMOND CLINIC: Blue Diamond School, 9:30 a.m.-noon Thursday.
SOUTHWEST CHILD HEALTH CLINIC: Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, noon-4 p.m. Friday.
SAM'S CLUB: 5101 S. Pecos Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
EPICENTER CLINIC: 2100 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 5, noon-4 p.m. Oct. 26.
RAFAEL RIVERA COMMUNITY CENTER CLINIC: 2900 E. Stewart Ave., 9 a.m.1 p.m. Oct. 26.
RAINBOW LIBRARY: 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Oct. 26.
