PAX, Cox sign one-year ad agreement

PAX TV will sell television ads for its shows on Cox Communications Inc. systems in Las Vegas and San Diego.
PAX said it is unprecedented for a broadcast network sales force to sell through a cable television system.
The family entertainment network, owned by West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Paxson Communications Corp., signed a one-year agreement through Aug. 27, 2000. Terms were not disclosed.
Lea Sloan, senior vice president of marketing for PAX, said the agreement allows the network to include the Las Vegas and San Diego markets in national and regional ad buys by PAX advertisers.
CableRep, the advertising sales division of Cox, will continue to be responsible for placing spots on the air and all invoicing, pricing and terms.
PAX is aired on Cox Cable Channel 50 and has no Las Vegas-based affiliate station. The network's programming includes family shows "Touched by an Angel," "Highway to Heaven," "Eight is Enough" and "Chicken Soup for the Soul."
