Candlelight vigil set at Family Court
A candlelight vigil "to shine a light of justice for the children of Clark County" will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Family Court, 601 N. Pecos Road.
The vigil is sponsored by ACES (Association for Children for Enforcement of Support).
ACES also will conduct a "How to Collect Child Support" seminar 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club, 2530 E. Carey Ave., North Las Vegas.

Volunteers needed to help with cleanup
Volunteers are needed to roll up their sleeves and help clean up Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday during the Bureau of Land Management's annual Red Rock Days celebration.
Workers will pick up trash, pull nonnative plants, maintain legal trails and help eradicate illegal ones.
A free picnic for volunteers will be provided at 2 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers should wear appropriate work attire, boots and a hat and also bring water and a snack. The BLM will provide tools and supplies.

Education opportunities to be explained
Montclif, a community for adults 55 and older, and the UNLV's Division of Continuing Education will host a free senior education seminar at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Montclif Community Center, 4175 S. Decatur Blvd.
A UNLV representative will explain programs geared toward seniors, some of which are tuition free. Call 868-3669.
Christmas in April to host black-tie event
Christmas in April is planning its third annual soiree at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Las Vegas Country Club.
The black-tie evening of dining and music begins with a silent auction and no-host cocktail reception. A seven-course gourmet dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
Christmas in April is a nonprofit organization that rehabilitates homes of low-income families, the elderly and disabled. Tickets are $150. Call 259-4900.
Workshop scheduled Wednesday at UNLV
The Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design will hold a free interior design workshop 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Auditorium TBE A-107 of the UNLV School of Engineering.
The purpose of the workshop is to allow the board to seek input from interior designers and members of the public on such topics as qualifications, scope of practice, registration and licensing. Call 486-7300.
Weatherization instruction
A free weatherization class is being offered 9-11 p.m. Thursday at the Las Vegas Senior Citizens Center, 451 E. Bonanza Road. Call 229-6454.
Bike fair
The Regional Transportation Commission is sponsoring a Bike To Work Day and Bike Fair at 7 a.m. Thursday at the County Government Center, 600 S. Grand Central Parkway, to kick off its "Share The Road" program. Call Maria Rodriguez at 676-1500.
Aerospace lecture
Gregory Bennett, vice president of spacecraft development of Bigelow Aerospace Co., will give a free lecture, "Technical Challenges," at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in UNLV's Thomas Beam Engineering Complex, Room A-107. Call Robert Boehm, 895-4160.
