10-year-old murders remain unsolved

The bodies of 8-year-old Charles and 6-year-old Jennifer were found nine months later in a shallow grave along California 70, about 50 miles northwest of Reno.
For their mother, Ann Chang, the pain of Oct. 18, 1989, is constant as she longs for answers to the many unanswered questions surrounding her children's deaths.
"I never forget them every minute," Chang said. "I remember the kids even when I'm driving. I always pray for my children."
Police, meanwhile, still receive tips. And they continue to look for a brown van with a Miller beer gear shift that was seen near the site where the children's bodies were found.
"It's frustrating," said Reno Police Detective Joe Depczynski.
"After 10 years we've gone through all these leads, we've spent thousands of man hours. And we're not really any closer to any arrest."
