Letter: Commission vote is a travesty
Friday, Oct. 15, 1999 | 8:12 a.m.
I am appalled by the recent vote of our elected representatives. This is a right-to-work state. Three county commissioners allowed their pro-union stance to confuse their understanding of what their jobs really are.
Three members allowed their personal beliefs to determine the future grocery costs for everyone in the valley. One of the trio then announces that the reason is not to keep out Wal-Mart, but because of traffic. Come on, be for real. This is Las Vegas, not Beatty. Traffic is a reality here.
