Nevada man sentenced to two life terms for sexual assault

Washoe District Judge James Hardesty sentenced James Jerome Johnson, 37, to two consecutive life terms. He will have to serve at least 20 years in prison before he will be eligible again for parole.
Johnson was convicted in August of four counts of sexual assault of a 19-year-old man with cerebal palsy. The assaults occurred in May at a Washoe County residence on Red Rock Road.
At the time of the assaults, Johnson had been on parole for only 11 days after serving time for assault with a deadly weapon. He was convicted of that crime in 1996 after he tried to run over the police officer.
