Last charge in pimp’s case dropped

A prostitution-related charge has been dismissed against a Las Vegas man who was convicted of seven other counts last month.
According to court documents, U.S. District Judge Howard McKibben dismissed the last of eight related charges against Andre Taylor at the request of the U.S. attorney's office.
A federal jury last month rejected Taylor's claims that he was a retired pimp and convicted him of seven charges of forcing women and underage girls to travel across state lines to commit sex acts.
However, jurors deadlocked on an eighth charge, and it was that charge that was dismissed by McKibben. Taylor faces up to 10 years in prison when sentenced by McKibben on Jan. 18.
Jurors in the Taylor case heard testimony from two of his former prostitutes, one of whom was 16 when she went to work for him. The women said they worked seven days a week and turned over all of their profits to Taylor.
