Letter: Competition keeps prices reasonable

It is out of its element. This area is filled with senior apartment complexes and working people. We as an organized group are boycotting this store and its outlandish prices, even though many of us have to ride the bus a few miles to get fair prices. The Grey Panthers will be heard.
Let us unite and fight this political ploy of Clark County Commissioner Erin Kenny. Of course Vons and Smith's and the rest oppose Wal-Mart's planned superstores. When it is approved they will have to lower their already high prices, that is exactly what free competition means. I think a thorough investigation into Ms. Kenny's motives is in perfect order. Where does the truth really lie?
