Ex-Frontier owner sued over LV site

Former Frontier hotel-casino owner Margaret Elardi was sued in state court in a dispute involving an industrial property she owns in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Venture, a Los Angeles-based holding company, is suing Elardi for water damage at its warehouse property at 3112 Highland Drive. Elardi owns a neighboring warehouse property at 3160 Highland Drive.
The lawsuit said water is collecting on Las Vegas Venture's property because of improvements built on the Elardi property, such as the changing of the property's elevation and the modification of drainage channels and gutters designed to allow water runoff.
Without these alterations, water would be able to run off harmlessly, the plaintiffs allege. Alternative drainage systems could have prevented much of the damage, the lawsuit claims.
Las Vegas Venture has owned its property since 1975, while Elardi built her property in 1993, according to county records. Las Vegas Venture is asking for unspecified damages caused by damage to the property, loss of value and loss of rents.
Elardi could not be reached for comment.
