RENO -- Harrah's Reno will build a temporary plaza downtown until it decides what permanent structure to build on the site.
Harrah's bought the closed Harolds and Nevada clubs in June. Those buildings will be demolished this fall.
Harrah's General Manager Steve Yarrow said the plaza will include lighting, a covered walkway and landscaping and could be used for special events and concerts.
The casino company has not said what permanent plans it has for the property. But Yarrow said that decision will depend in part on redevelopment efforts and plans to lower the railroad tracks through downtown.
