Benigno 'Benny' Asenjo

Benigno 'Benny' Asenjo, 60, of Henderson died Tuesday. He was born April 3, 1939, in Havana. A resident for 24 years, he was a casino porter.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; one daughter, Brenda Hernandez-Asenjo, and one brother, Mario Asenjo, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Alicia Asenjo of Barcelona, Spain; and two grandchildren.

Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Sadie Louise Silverine Braden

Sadie Louise Silverine Braden, 72, of Blue Diamond died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 27, 1927, in Petersburg, Tenn. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse L.; two daughters, Jean Jones and Mary Williams, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Guy Tucker of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 8:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Joseph Charles Chiaramonte

Joseph Charles Chiaramonte, 45, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 3, 1954, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for six years, he was an automotive mechanic and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn; one daughter, Shalene Ann of Palmdale, Calif.; one son, Joseph James of Henderson; his mother, Gracie, and two brothers, Louis Chiaramonte and Chuck Chiaramonte Jr., all of Palmdale.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. services Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Joseph W. Eakle

Joseph W. Eakle, 4 months, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, April Eakle, and two brothers, Michael Eakle and Austin Eakle, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Dennis and Helen of Dolan Springs, Ariz., and Floyd and Phyllis of Oklahoma; his great-grandparents, Claude and Lois Thorpe of Dolan Springs and Doris and Bob Thompson of Tower Hill, Ill.; and one great-great-aunt, Linda Dickerson of Dolan Springs.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Saturday in Sunset Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Marjorie I. Godfrey

Marjorie I. Godfrey, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1916, in New York City. A resident for 14 years, she was a state government secretary.

She is survived by one brother, Charles Godfrey of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Ofelia C. Lalanne

Ofelia C. Lalanne, 87, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Mexico City. A resident for seven months, she was a teacher.

She is survived by one daughter, Elena Zarur of Mexico; one son and daughter-in-law, Horacio C. and Aurea Lalanne of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Helen J. Lowe

Helen J. Lowe, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born July 8, 1919, in Supla, Okla. A resident for 36 years, she retired from the El Cortez hotel-casino as a bookkeeper after 20 years, also worked at the old Thunderbird Hotel and the Lied Children's Museum.

She is survived by two sons, Jerrell Lowe of Azle, Texas, and Jack Lowe of Las Vegas; three brothers, Robert Waugh, Bill Waugh and David Waugh, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Vernon Douglas Lyle Jr.

Vernon Douglas Lyle Jr., 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Chicago. A resident for several years, he was a retired law enforcement officer and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Gloria and Jillian, and his father, Vernon D. Lyle Sr., all of Las Vegas; one brother, Eric Lyle of Dolton, Ill.; and one grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 6:30 p.m. today in Victory Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Wayne Maxwell

Wayne Maxwell, 71, of Searchlight died Wednesday in Las Vegas. An oil well driller and World War II Army veteran, he was born July 8, 1928, in Utah.

He is survived by one son, Monty Maxwell of Penryn, Calif.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Tony Mazzola

Tony Mazzola, 63, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born July 14, 1936, in Detroit. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired beverage warehouseman and a member of Teamsters Local 14.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; five daughters, Lori Malofy, Maria Ficalora, Theresa Lemke and Toni Mazzola, all of Las Vegas, and Annette Burgess of Macomb Township, Mich.; two sisters, Margaret Ricker and Angeline Kenzler, and one brother, Sam Mazzola, all of Michigan; and 12 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Avedis Antranik Papazian

Avedis Antranik Papazian, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 14, 1946, in Lebanon. A resident for 19 years, he was a handbag designer and an automobile mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Zenouhie; two sons, Antonio Avedis Papazian and Manuel Papazian, and one daughter, Maryana Papazian, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Nazeli Seraydarian of Lebanon; and two brothers, Kevork Papazian of Los Angeles and Sarkis Papazian of Lebanon.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Clarice E. Payne

Clarice E. Payne, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Denver. A resident for 30 years, she was a PBX operator at Palace Station.

She is survived by her husband, William; and four sisters, Helen Toal and Jean Miller, both of Newport Beach, Calif., Ann Tindall of Wieser, Idaho, and Yvonne McCarthy of Las Vegas.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

George Cleveland Plotke

George Cleveland Plotke, 80, of Phoenix died June 18 in Phoenix. He was born in Canada. A former Las Vegas resident in the 1950s and 1960s, he was president of a trucking company and a World War II Army Signal Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; one daughter, Jane Plotke of Phoenix; one son, David Plotke of Hamden, Conn., and Sweden; and two grandchildren.

Charles Prouty Jr.

Charles Prouty Jr., 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1916, in California. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired cable man in the communications industry, a World War II Army veteran and an avid bowler.

He is survived by one daughter, Dawn L. Downs of Las Vegas; two sons, Charles Prouty III of Idaho and Jerry Prouty of Washington state; one brother, Walt Prouty of California; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Erik Anthony Quintana Jr.

Erik Anthony Quintana Jr., 8, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1991, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for six years, he was a third-grade student at Fay Herron Elementary School.

He is survived by his parents, Eric and Letty Quintana, one sister, Erica Quintana, and three brothers, Patrick Quintana, Jacob Quintana and George Quintana, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, George and Miriam Quintana of Las Vegas and Oncsino and Flotilda Esparza of El Paso, Texas.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Delores Selle Zenoff

Delores Selle Zenoff, 85, of Henderson died Sept. 15 in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Milwaukee. A resident for 49 years, she, along with her late husband Morry, were retired owner-publishers of the Henderson Home News and she was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

A memorial service will be 2:15 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
