New trial dates in du Pont case

Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 | 10:03 a.m.

New trial dates have been set for two men charged in the contract killing of a potential heir to the du Pont fortune.

Christopher Moseley and Ricardo Murillo were to go to trial Oct. 18, but a scheduling conflict in federal court prompted the trials to be moved back.

Murillo's trial is now expected to begin Nov. 8, while Moseley is scheduled to go to trial Nov. 15, or as soon as Murillo's trial ends.

Moseley, 59, of Centerville, Del., and Murillo, 38, of Las Vegas each possible life prison terms in the killing of Patricia Margello, who was the girlfriend of Moseley's stepson.

Prosecutors claim Moseley hired Murillo and others to kill Margello, whose body was found in a Las Vegas motel. Moseley's 70-year-old wife, Lisa Dean Moseley, is a direct descendent of the Du Pont Co. founder.

Moseley was scheduled to change his plea in the case this week, but the parties failed to strike a deal.
