The field for next week's Las Vegas Invitational became a little deeper Wednesday night with the addition of popular touring pros Fred Couples, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh.
Couples claims the 1992 Masters among his 14 tour wins while Mickelson owns 13 titles. Singh captured last year's PGA Championship.
"Phil and Freddie played with us last year and it's great to have them back," LVI manager Charlie Baron said. "With Phil's performance in the Ryder Cup ... he's definitely someone for fans to see.
"Vijay is one of the top guys on the money list and a great player. All three are great additions to the field."
Baron said he also expected Davis Love III to commit before the end of today.
The 90-hole, $2.5 million LVI begins next Wednesday at the TPC at Summerlin, Las Vegas Country Club and the Desert Inn.
* The UNLV golf team dropped two spots to fourth in the nation in the second edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. Clemson is the nation's top-ranked team followed by Northwestern and Georgia. Oklahoma State rounds out the top five. Individually, UNLV senior Jeremy Anderson is the highest ranked Rebel at No. 13.
