Revenue up for phone company

Las Vegas-based MGC Communications Inc. today reported double-digit increases in access lines sold, lines installed and revenue for the third quarter.

A spokesman said the announcement was made in advance of third-quarter financial results, which will be released later this month.

MGC, which has begun launching its new digital subscriber line service in Las Vegas, reported a 31 percent increase from the second quarter in lines installed to 117,210 and a 26 percent increase in the number of access lines sold to 138,400. Revenue during the quarter increased 30 percent over the second quarter to $15 million.

MGC also said it has increased its sales staff from 85 at the end of the second quarter to 120 as of Sept. 30. The company serves Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago and parts of Southern California and Southern Florida.
