Letter: Support country: Buy American

Just the other day I was at a retailer shopping for socks. One brand was cheaper than the other and I could not figure out why.
Hanes vs. Fruit of the Loom -- both are well-known brands. I then looked to see where they were made. Sure enough, the cheaper brand, Hanes, was assembled out of the country while Fruit of the Loom was "Made in the USA."
I spent the extra $1.25 and bought the American brand. I am not a member of a union or a manufacturer of any type of clothing -- I simply felt it was my duty to look at the label, and support my country's economy.
It is important to share this with you because often companies (and people) take the younger generation for granted. It does matter to me, and I do look at the label. In this case it cost me an extra dollar, but I am an American, and I will not be displaced.
