The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada's Tot-Shabbat program begins 10 a.m. Friday at 3900 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 400.
Children ages 5 and under and their parents or caregivers will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of Shabbat activities including singing, arts and crafts, play time and Shabbat rituals such as learning prayers for lighting candles, eating Challah, and drinking grape juice. Cost is $7 for JCC members and $10 for nonmembers. Call 794-0090.
Annual fall seminar planned for Saturday
The Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society's annual fall seminar with George Schweitzer will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Jokers Wild, 920 N. Boulder Highway in Henderson.

Test schooling show to be held Sunday
Horse and pony owners who want to learn more about the Olympic sport of three-day eventing are invited to compete in a Combined Test Schooling Show 9 a.m. Sunday at Floyd Lamb State Park off U.S. 95 at Durango Drive.

Series set at Spring Mountain Ranch
Living history programs at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park are being offered. A series of talks and demonstrations will be presented on the pioneer settlement of Southern Nevada as it relates to ranch history.
Among the upcoming programs is Pioneer Living, in which talks and demonstrations of old time skills and crafts from the early 1800s to the turn of the century will be presented along with a variety of mountain men activities. Call 687-4370.
Festivals to be held at Sunset Park
The Age of Chivalry Renaissance and Celtic Festivals will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.
A free Celtic rock concert will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The festivals, sponsored by the Clark County Department of Parks and Recreation and KVVU Channel 5, will have vendors, entertainment and reenactors. Call 455-8264.
Workshop to help college students
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a financial aid workshop for college-bound students 3-4 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
The workshop will focus on financial assistance services available to college students. Topics will include application requirements, deadline dates and needs assessments. Call 565-2121.
