Walter E. Archibald

Walter E. Archibald, 51, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 30, 1948, in Birmingham, Ala. A resident for 13 years, he was a security/yard manager for Hampton Tedder, employed by the Clark County School District for eight years, two years at UNLV and was a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by two brothers, Harold Archibald of Henderson and Dawud Abdallah of Boston.

Services were scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, followed by graveside services in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Loretta Buckner

Loretta Buckner, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born July 3, 1926, in Detroit. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Hazel Hill of Henderson and Nancy Whetstone of Las Vegas; two sons, Ray Buckner of Las Vegas and Anthony Buckner of Henderson; three sisters, Shirley Perrera of Ferndale, Mich., Leona Schroeder of Royal Oak, Mich., and Edna Merkel of Las Vegas; one brother, George Merkel of Hazel Park, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Ernest Hubert 'Buss' Buskirk

Ernest Hubert 'Buss' Buskirk, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Watertown, N.Y. A resident for 39 years, he was a machinist for the federal government.

He is survived by one son, Ernest Buskirk of Las Vegas; two daughters, Kim Combs of Coral Springs, Fla., and Tracy Koch of Parkland, Fla.; one sister, Ena Marie Spencer of Erie, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Thomas G. Coyne

Thomas G. Coyne, 60, of Dayton, Wyo., died Friday in Dayton. He was born June 8, 1939, in Sheridan, Wyo. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a police officer in Las Vegas and Sheridan, retired as a Las Vegas police sergeant in 1986 after receiving many commendations and awards, was a storyteller, enjoyed old country music, playing his guitar, writing songs, golfing, cribbage, chess and bunkhouse poker games.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Judy of Dayton; one son, Mike Coyne of Las Vegas; one daughter, Kelly Lee Helmer, and one stepdaughter, Alicia Martin, both of Sheridan; one stepson, Lance Blakeslee of Denver; one sister, Virginia Weinburg of Vancouver, Wash.; three stepbrothers, Steve Ramsey of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, John Ramsey of Rawlins, Wyo., and David Ramsey of Buffalo, Wyo.; two stepsisters, Sharon Shane and Mary Williams, both of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.

Ferries Funeral Home, Sheridan, is handling arrangements.

Keith Hemingway

Keith Hemingway, 50, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1948, in England. A resident for six months, he was a development manager for an insurance company.

Burial will be in England. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Stephen E. Kink

Stephen E. Kink, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 24, 1945, in Pittsburgh. A resident for five years, he was a laborer in construction and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sisters, Theresa C. DiLucia of Pittsburgh and Kathleen J. Kent of Wisconsin.

Burial will be in Pittsburgh. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Mary Jo Kline-Rakofsky

Mary Jo Kline-Rakofsky, 39, of Las Vegas died Sept. 19 in Las Vegas. She was born April 26, 1960, in Illinois. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; one son, Charles Joseph Rakofsky, and one brother, Charles Freeman, both of Las Vegas.

Janvier C. Knight

Janvier C. Knight, 60, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1939, in New Jersey. A resident for many years, he was a sailboat rigger.

He is survived by his wife, Constance.

Visitation is scheduled 7-9 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hites Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Steve Kostelac

Steve Kostelac, 85, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 55 years, he was self-employed in the demolition industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Steve Kostelac Jr., and one daughter, Lorraine Carter, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, John Kostelac of Pennsylvania and Francis Kostelac of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Catherine Divjak and Ann Krieder, both of Pennsylvania.

Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lon A. Leach

Lon A. Leach, 82, of Henderson died Saturday in a local care center. He was born July 25, 1917, in Sargent, Neb. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his companion, Jean Bernstein of Henderson.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by graveside services in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Genaro Lobato Jr.

Genaro Lobato Jr., 24, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 3, 1975, in Mexico. A recent resident to Las Vegas, he was a salesman at the Gap.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; one son, Mykal Lobato, and one daughter, Hannah Lobato, both of California; his father, Genaro Lobato of Mexico; his mother, Anna Lobato, and one sister, Andrea Lobato, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. today with a rosary and services following at 6:20 p.m. in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Edward L. Mahony

Edward L. Mahony, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, Mich. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired professional driver for the Clark County School District, a Marine Corps veteran, a member of Elks Lodge 1468 and Sons of Erin.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Greene-Mahony; two daughters, Colleen Mahony of Detroit and Petty Verbanac of Wolverine, Mich.; two sons, James Mahony of Angola, Ind., and Michael Greene of Detroit; two brothers, Patrick Mahony and Dan Mahony, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today and Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Jones.

Joseph F. Maisano

Joseph F. Maisano, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 25, 1919, in New Jersey. A resident for 22 years, he was a longshoreman and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Emil Maisano of New Jersey.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Gary Robert Olson

Gary Robert Olson, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local convalescent hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Madison, Wis. A resident for six years, he was a banking loan officer.

He is survived by his companion, Donnie Jones of Las Vegas; and one sister, Pam Rockwell of Madison.

Orville B. Stange

Orville B. Stange, 73, of Pahrump died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Fargo, N.D. A resident for 46 years (most recently 20 years in Pahrump), he owned and operated Orv's Excavating and Grating Service, retired from Operating Engineers Union in 1989, was a charter member of Pahrump Moose Lodge 808, Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; one daughter, Michele Henning of Las Vegas; three sons, Gary Stange of Las Vegas and Terry Stange and Orville Stange Jr., both of Seattle; six stepchildren, Vivica, Tony, Rick, Bunny, Debra and Becky; one sister, Mildred See of Cesselton, N.D.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Rodolfo Torres

Rodolfo Torres, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 28, 1933, in Mexico. A resident for many years, he was a concrete finisher.

He is survived by his wife, Elva; four sons, Lazaro Torres of Colorado, Jose Joel Torres and Javier Torres and Jorge Torres, both of California; three daughters, Adelaida Torres of Mexico and Norma Flores and Sandra Torres, both of Las Vegas; five brothers, Fermin Torres, Jesus Torres, Rigoberto Torres and Luis Torres, all of Mexico, and Rafael Torres of Las Vegas; three sisters, Catalina Torres and Angeles Torres, both of Mexico, and Carmen Torres of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday with 11 a.m. services in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Mexico.

David A. Villamor

David A. Villamor, 75, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born April 29, 1924, in Stockton, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired construction foreman and a Korean War Army and Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; three daughters, Carol Baker of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Mary Alice Spencer of Issaquah, Wash., and Georgette Cunningham of Heber, Utah; two sons, Michael Villamor and James Villamor, both of Henderson; one brother, Vincent Villamor of Oakland, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services and burial will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Robert Neal Walkenshaw

Robert Neal Walkenshaw, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 11, 1952, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 47 years, he was the former owner of Desert Decor.

He is survived by one daughter, Erin R. Walkenshaw, one son, Shawn L. Walkenshaw, and his mother, Jacklyn Keefer, all of Las Vegas; and one sister, Linda Scharf of Henderson.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Charles O. Wood

Charles O. Wood, 72, of Boulder City died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 13, 1927, in Shawnee, Okla. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired heavy equipment operator in the construction industry and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Vorthmann of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Carole Lee of Tucson, Ariz.; one son, Rex Barry of Pasadena, Calif.; one brother, Wilburn Wood of Texas; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Mausoleum, Boulder City.

David J. Wright Jr.

David J. Wright Jr., 73, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Wilmington, N.C. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired bus driver, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union Local 107.

He is survived by one son, Peter D. Wright of Las Vegas; one daughter, Marie M. Wright of Florence, N.J.; one brother, William Wright of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Janie Bell Carr of Anaheim, Calif., and Ellen Wycoski of Titusville, Fla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
