LV investment company in bankruptcy

A Las Vegas real estate investment company has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas.

Deseret Investment Corp., 3235 Red Scott Circle, listed assets of $4.67 million and liabilities of $4.07 million in the filing before Judge Linda Riegle.

The company listed three mortgages and a construction interest as assets. The filing said the company has 10 investors in Las Vegas and Orem, Utah.

A Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing is a liquidation proceeding to pay creditors.

Attorneys for Deseret Investment and Chief Executive Gregory L. Earl could not be reached for comment.
