Clark County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the Age of Chivalry Renaissance and Celtic festivals on Friday through Sunday at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.
Events such as jousting, battle re-enactments, royal processions, highland games, and plays will be available throughout the festival. The festivals run 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday with a free Celtic rock concert at 6:30 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Water authority to host lectures, workshops
The Southern Nevada Water Authority will provide area residents with short lectures, workshops and demonstrations on desert gardening conducted by local landscaping, irrigation and gardening experts 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Desert Demonstration Gardens, 3701 W. Alta Drive.
Special programs are available for kids. The first 500 visitors will receive a free gardening bag and plant. Call 258-3205.
Free screenings available on Thursday
Free screenings for depression will be offered during the ninth annual National Depression Screening Day 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Charter Behavioral Health System of Nevada, 7000 W. Spring Mountain Road.

Down syndrome group hosting clinic today
The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada will host a free holiday design clinic featuring Jeff Nelson of Ralph Jones Display 6 p.m. today at 5300 Vegas Drive.
The clinic is open to anyone interested in participating in the 11th annual Festival of Trees and Lights.
The event provides funds for programs that enhance the lives of those with Down's Syndrome. Call 648-1414.
Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 36 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, Oct. 6 - 12.

NORTH LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 3262 Civic Center Drive, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
BOULDER CITY CLINIC: Multi-Purpose Building, 1204 6th Street, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesday.
A.D. GUY CLINIC: Boys & Girls Club, 817 N St., 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
MEADOWS VILLAGE CLINIC: Chester W. Stupak Community Center, 300 W. Boston Ave., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday.
SOUTHWEST CHILD HEALTH CLINIC: Christ the King Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday.
CLARK COUNTY HEALTH DISTRICT THRU FLU PROGRAM: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-noon, Saturday.
BELZ FACTORY OUTLET WORLD: 7400 Las Vegas Blvd. South, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
ST. ANDREW'S CATHOLIC CHURCH: 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Sunday.
EPICENTER CLINIC: 2100 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 5, noon-4 p.m. Oct. 12.
PARKDALE CLINIC: Community Center, 3200 Ferndale St., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 12.
NORTHWEST CLINIC: Fellowship Community Church, 6210 W. Cheyenne Ave. at Maverick Street, 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 12.
