Another community bank may soon be coming to Henderson.
Less than three months after Nevada Community Bancorp. opened the Desert Community Bank in Las Vegas, the bank holding company has applied for its third local bank charter.
Nevada Community Bancorp's second facility, the Red Rock Community Bank at 10000 W. Charleston in Summerlin, is slated for an October opening.
An application was submitted last month to open the Black Mountain Community Bank, at 1700 W. Horizon Ridge Dr. in Henderson.
The new bank would be structured in the same way as the two other properties, with Tom Mangione serving as chief executive officer of all three banks and as chief operating officer of the holding company.
The organization's majority stockholder is Sun Community Bancorp., a division of Lansing, Mich.-based Capitol Bancorp Ltd., with the balance of stocks owned by local business people.
