Driver goes wrong way on U.S. 95

Monday, Oct. 4, 1999 | 11:52 a.m.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is still investigating why a man drove the wrong way on U.S. 95, resulting in a head-on collision that took his life.

Just after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, police say, Genaro D. Lobato, 24, of Las Vegas, was headed south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 95 near Durango Drive.

Lobato's car collided with a car being driven by Charles Ferguson, 48, of Utah. Lobato was killed.

Investigators are still trying to determine where Lobato entered the northbound lanes of U.S. 95, Highway Patrol spokesman Scott Flabi said.

Ferguson was reportedly taken to University Medical Center, but the hospital could not confirm the admission.
