Letter: IRL needs positive press
Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 | 2:04 a.m.
How do you think CART or any other series would do if they would have had to overcome the negative press in virtually every city in which they race?
I attend IRL races all over the country and read the local papers so I know this is true. What do you think your article did to excite people about going to the race? It simply caused more confusion and lack of interest.
Why don't you forget the split between the series and report about the on-track track action. Folks will show up if you guys just let it rest.
By the way, I do enjoy your writing.
