Workshop to teach festive techniques
A holiday bow-making workshop will be held 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lorna J. Kesterson Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St., Henderson.
The fee is $12. The workshop is one of several seasonal programs sponsored by the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department.
The instructor will teach a variety of bow-making techniques, including festive bows for the season and decorative bows for everyday use. Workshop supplies may be purchased for about $5. Participants may also opt to bring personally selected supplies from home. Call 565-2121.
Children to play role in celebration
Senior's United, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian educational organization for seniors, will hold its Celebration of the Holiday Season 1-3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the West Flamingo Senior Center, 6255 W. Flamingo Road.
The seniors will be reaching out to the children in the Shade Tree, a shelter for women and children. Call 838-1743.
Depression
A free depression workshop is being offered 6-8 p.m. Thursday in St. Rose Dominican Hospital's conference room, 102 E. Lake Mead Drive. Call 564-4761. Pre-registration is required. Call 564-4761 to register.
SENIOR TROUPERS
The Nevada Senior Coalition, a nonprofit, non-political group, is hosting the Nevada Senior Troupers at its Christmas meeting 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Showboat hotel-casino's second level. All seniors are invited.
Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 36 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, Dec. 1 - 7:

HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 3262 Civic Center Drive, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
BOULDER CITY CLINIC: Multi-Purpose Bldg., 1204 6th St., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesday.
A.D. GUY CLINIC: Boys & Girls Club, 817 N St., 10 a.m.-noon p.m. Friday.
MEADOWS VILLAGE CLINIC: Chester W. Stupak Community Center, 300 W. Boston Ave., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday.
GREEN VALLEY CLINIC: Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3:30 p.m. Friday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
LULAC CHILD HEALTH CLINIC: Arturo Cambeiro Building, 330 N. 13th St., 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Dec. 7.
