Alltel putting out ‘Call for Coats’

How many closets in the Las Vegas Valley have a coat or two or three that haven't been worn in years and seem destined to never again perform their duties?
Alltel Corp. is betting that there are thousands of such closets and has put out a "Call for Coats," to all of those who own such closets and their contents.
Five Alltel locations in the Las Vegas Valley are set up to receive clean used or new coats as donations for those who could really use them this cold, holiday season.
"Having a warm coat to wear on one of our cool and windy winter days is a comfort that most people take for granted," said Debbie DeSouza, resource director for the Shade Tree Shelter for homeless women and children. "Yet in reality many children who come to us do not have coats or continue wearing ones they have outgrown.
"We are very grateful for Alltel's willingness to help in the effort to provide children with much needed coats."
Donations may be made to any of the company's five Las Vegas locations -- 840 Grier Drive, 929 S. Rainbow Boulevard, 2225 Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas, 3870 E. Flamingo Road, and 4458 N. Rancho Drive.
"Answering Alltel's Call for Coats is a simple way to put the warmth back in the holiday season for area children," said Terry Beeler, vice president and general manager for Alltel's Southern Nevada market.
Alltel is a national company providing communications services to more than 8 million customers in 25 states. It has information services clients in 55 countries and territories.
