Harrah's Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas named Las Vegas casino executive Tom Roberts the new senior vice president and general manager of its casino in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Roberts was the vice president of development and leasing at the Rio Suites Hotel & Casino, which was acquired by Harrah's in January.
Roberts was responsible for the development and management of the Rio's $250 million "Masquerade Village," a gaming, retail and interactive entertainment center in the hotel. Prior to joining the Rio in 1996, Roberts was the founding general manager of the Forum Shops at Caesars.
Roberts' appointment is subject to Louisiana regulatory approvals. In his new position, he will lead Harrah's plans to add a 500-room hotel and a convention center to the Shreveport casino over the next year.
