Several animal groups are banding together and urging that the HPV program be put on hold until alternative testing methods can be used and existing data fully explored. In most cases, alternatives are better. They provide more conclusive results, are faster, less expensive and most importantly, do not harm living beings. Although the EPA says it wants to reduce pain and distress in test animals, it still insists on conducting animal tests.
